Seilada is a small island in the Sawakin archipelago.
It is one
of the destination of the "South" route. It is also called
"Turtle Island" because the turtles, during the spring, come to nest
in the sand of its beaches. In late spring you can see their tracks and
with a little luck you can see some turtles on the sand.
It is easy to meet them along the barrier just snorkeling. (just
taking a bath with mask and fins).
Sightings are insured during the dive at North point.
North
Seilada is not considered a demanding dive, it is a beautiful third dive, maybe on the
way back to go to moor in the Sha'ab Ambar lagoon.
During this dive, from March
on, we will find turtles in quantity, nursery of white tip reef sharks,
solitary hammers, rays and reef fish.
Seilada does not provide safe mooring for the night, it is a
pity, but with a little luck between a dive and another you can find time for a
short walk.
